It is not possible to keep the high level of security and safety measures longer than necessary, which is why there are time gates.
As stated in the competition rules, race participants will be stopped when they arrive at the time gates later than the cut-off time. They will be brought back to the start. The time gates are ample enough to allow a suitably trained team to pass them easily earlier than the cut-off time.
The time gates are located at the energy stations, plus one at the end. At 17:00 sharp, the time registration will be stopped and the remaining race participants will be marked as ‘DNF’ (did not finish) on the results list.
